Restoring on a Local PC
Restoring a database by any of the methods listed below will cause your current data to be overwritten with the data which was current at the time the backup was taken. As a consequence, you will lose any data which has been entered since the backup was taken. This action is for advanced users or IT professionals only. We recommend that you consult your IT department or the HR3 support team before performing this action.
If payroll is installed or your local PC you are able to restore your database using your most recent backup.
To Restore Your Database:
- In Navigator select Tools |Restore Database.
The Restore Database Window will open showing a list of the recent backups for that database. The most recent backup you have performed will be at the bottom of the list. - Select the backup file that you want to use to restore the database.
- Click Execute.
A message will appear asking if you are sure you want to restore the backup and listing the file name/path. It also warns you once again that any changes you had made to your data subsequent to the backup being made will be lost. - If you are sure that you want to restore the backup, click OK.
A Confirm message will appear informing you that payrollneeds to be restarted at the end of the restore process. - If you are sure that you want to restore the backup click OK.
Your restore will now begin, and the process will be shown in the section of the window entitled Verbose.
The time taken for this procedure can vary depending on a number of factors. The application will automatically close when the restore has completed, click the payroll icon on your desktop to login again.
